winetricks - Install Adobe Acrobat XI with wine - Ask Ubuntu -

What should I do to get this to complete its installation? Just so you know, I had installed this once on this computer, but deactivated the installation because the people I bought the computer from needed me to reinstall Windows 8 Pro from scratch I had RAID problems and the removed and then recreated the RAID which required a completely new install of Windows 8.

The maximum file size is 47 MB. Are you sure you want to proceed? Any ideas? Have you ever had Acrobat on this system before? If both Acrobat X and XI give you the same result, I suspect that there is something "different" I don't want to say "wrong" with your system. I have never had a problem installing Acrobat X or XI on Windows 7 32 or 64 bit , so it's definitely possible to get a working installation, it's just a matter of figuring out what's "different" about your system.

I understand your frustration with support. I am actually dealign with my own support issue, and I am not getting anything close to what I am expecting. My strategy is to just start another chat session and hope that you get to somebody who is a bit more knowledgeable. Hi Karl, I did use the cleaner you refferd to, but with no luck. I've also deleted contents of Temp folder, and registry entry for adobe, I've removed every single peice of adobe's soft: flash, reader, macromedia with no luck upon installation after a reboot.

See if you can find the log files. Just be aware that the "Adobe Support Advisor" is no longer available. I did run that utility as well actually was the first one i did before the acrobat clean up utility to clean up files as well, but let me give this another try with the looking through the logs, but I doubt that I'll get something out of it, I'll need to take a small break from it to cool off.

I just ran an install again and had folder opened and watched it. I find it to be quite disapointing that I still cannot install the software. No support is provided of any kind for this very well known issue. It seems like one the Adobe Reader was install, the standard version will not install unless it is a clean slate install os like it was tried on my other pc in the office which is running XP Pro. I find it exteremely unprofessional on Adobe's part to ignore a customer support issue in this area and redirect everyone to the forums.

That's would be somewhat OK if one actually found a workable solution, I have yet to find one. As of right now I have a software that costed me a good chunck of change only to be laying around collecting dust as it is not being used.

I have no intentions on using it on my other pc as it is not the primary pc in use and will not be around for too long anyway. This means that in order for me to get this thing to work, I'll have to backup all of my data, software and many other thing on this pc, re-install a clean version of Win7, re-install all of its updates, re-install all the software back onto it, transfer all of the important data back onto it, reconfigure it the way it was prior to this very uneasy installation of Adobe Acrobat Standard edition.

Seems like a lot of work to be done, not to mention a full two days of down time, which mean loosing business and money.
